BBVA
Global Design Library
Project Challenge
As a global bank that allowed regions to have their own products and sub-identities, BBVA realized they needed to begin unifying their UI in order to create a stronger overall brand.

- SOLUTION -
My team created the UI Studio. This was a site and library which held all the information designers needed to begin designing with a consistent global visual language.

Specifications
My team analyzed global sketch components to create specifications for how, when, and where to use components. We then documented it in the UI Studio creating a full categorization of the visual language all designers should align to.
Get Sketchy
Sketch is the main design tool throughout the company. This allowed us to research the ability to create a cloud based library that all designers linked to. We worked on creating components that can be interchanged for any scenario they might exist in and be as editable as possible. The cloud based system allows users to receive automatic updates and stay consistent with the rest of the global design team.

Growing Together
The start of this project was happening as Sketch Libraries were being developed. This created a unique situation where we would outgrow the technology but then find that many of our issues were solved in their next release. While this was a frustration, it also allowed us moments of finding creative solutions to limitations.
Being Flexible
As we established components we tried to make them as flexible as possible. For the system to work, designers needed to keep the components unbroken. We observed casually around the office the instances that our components failed and needed to be broken. This served as low-key user testing and helped us improve our designs.
