MICHELE

Site Redesign
Project Challenge

Michele watches had an existing e-commerce site that wasn't built to showcase their highly customizable products. The shopping pages were filled with small images of very similar looking products leading to user confusion and eventual abandonment of trying to make a purchase.

- SOLUTION -

I created a concept for the product page that allowed users to customize a watch with the same simplicity as picking a t-shirt color on clothing sites. The new experience had larger views of products, easy selections of sizes and styles, and clear breakdowns of customizations and their prices.

Making Luxury Fun

Michele watches have customizable straps. The new interface showed users the endless combinations they could create. The product would always default to a metal bracelet and invite the user to "make it their own".

Find What You Need Fast

Previously different size straps of the same material were each treated as their own product. This created a highly confusing experience. I remedied this by creating "quick view" overlays to help a user select which version of the strap material they wanted.

Keep Things Simple

The brand photography has always been strong, so I kept a simple homepage experience and opted to spend the bulk of my focus on items which would increase sales.

Small Details

Michele watches are known for the diamond details and exotic materials. The updated product page allowed for more understanding of what you are buying, how it effects your total, and why it's important.

Hint Hint

We found that most customers tend to receive the watch as a gift for milestone moments. Often a husband gifting their wife. I built a highly connect share feature that allowed a user to email, Facebook, tweet, and save their customized creation to send as a gift idea.
